On 8 June 2010, we got to ride on the Gautrain for the first time. It was the very first day the
Gautrain was open, an eagerly-awaited day, since the long-ago days back in 2006 when Xander used
to bring a milk crate to Rosebank to look at the Gautrain diggings. I went in the morning and bought
our Gautrain gold cards, meeting a friend who lives in England at the ticket booths! Then after
school, we set off on foot for the nearest Gautrain bus stop in Rosebank (there is a temporary bus
until the Rosebank station opens next year).

Not shown in the pictures is the 2.5 hour bus journey home, where we got caught in traffic
from the rush hour and the Portugal-Mozambique friendly match at Wanderers.
